Sachin Declined Bhajji's Request to Play in T20 WC

Mumbai: Ace off-spinner Harbhajan Singh said on Sunday that he had requested Sachin Tendulkar to play for India in the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup in the West Indies. However, Tendulkar told him that he would stick to his decision of not playing Twenty20 internationals any more.

Harbhajan disclosed that he had personally requested Tendulkar to play in the T20 World Cup, a day before the team selection took place in Mumbai.

Harbhajan said that he feels Sachin's presence would have made the Indian squad stronger in the Caribbean. Sachin had earlier said that he doesn't intend to return to the T20 side. He said, "I am not going to play in the T20 World Cup. I abide by my decision taken in 2007."
