Seven Players Including Dhoni Arrive from Lanka

Chennai: Seven members of the Indian cricket team which won the Asia Cup title in Sri Lanka, including captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, arrived on Friday.

Dhoni and six other players landed at the Chennai International Airport Friday afternoon from Colombo and they were given a warm welcome.

A large crowd turned up at the airport to catch a glimpse of their stars as they trooped out of the arrival terminal.

Pragyan Ojha left for Hyderabad soon after landing while Dhoni and remaining other players will leave for their respective destinations on Saturday.

India had Thursday ended their 15-year-old Asia Cup title drought after crushing defending champions Sri Lanka by 81 runs in a lop-sided final.

This was India's first Asia Cup triumph since Mohammad Azharuddin had led them to the title in Sharjah in 1995.

India play Sri Lanka in a three-match Test series next month and then will take part in a tri-series, also involving New Zealand, in August.
