Shakib All-rounder Shows Bangladesh Clinch Series

Dhaka: Bangladesh win by six wickets and with this, they win the series 2-1.

This is a big confidence booster for the young Bangladeshi side. They have never been a side who have performed consistently well, causing one upset time and again has been their specialist job at best. Facing a similar side of their status, they have managed to come up trumps with some strong performances from Shakib and Mortaza.

Shakib Al Hasan followed up his 3 for 15 with an unbeaten 33 to guide Bangladesh to a six-wicket win and the series 2-1 in Mirpur. The match was reduced to 37 overs a side due to thick morning fog and Zimbabwe, after being put in, managed a paltry 119 which failed to push the home side.

The chase did not appear easy at one time with the hosts wobbling at 89-4, but Shakib and Mushfiqur Rahim (20 not out) kept their nerve to help their side clinch the three-match series 2-1.

Brief Score: Bangladesh 121/4 (Tamim 34, Shakib 33*) beat Zimbabwe 119/9 (Williams 38, Mortaza 3-26, Shakib 3-15) by six wickets
