Zimbabwe Players Upset About Missing T20 World Cup

Cuttack: Zimbabwe might have upset Australia in the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 in South Africa two years ago, but the minnows of world cricket will miss the second edition of the event in England this year, a fact that hasn't gone well with the nation's cricketers, said veteran all-rounder Raymond Price.

"We all are disappointed to miss out on the second edition of the Twenty20 World Championship, especially when we have good memory of beating the Aussies by five wickets in the opening match of the first World 20/20 in Cape Town in 2007. We all are very unhappy about this," said Price, who is in India as a member of the Zimbabwe President's XI to play in the domestic season-ender Deodhar Trophy One-day tournament.

As part of a compromise deal worked out between the International Cricket Council and the Zimbabwean Cricket Association in Dubai last year, the African nation has pulled out of next summer's Twenty20 World Championships to retain its Full Member status in the ICC after other members demanded its suspension because of Robert Mugabe's government.
