The 2014 season of the Indian Premier League, abbreviated as IPL 7 or Pepsi IPL 2014, seventh season of the IPL. The Mumbai Indians the defending champions, having won the 2013 season after defeating Chennai Super Kings in the final. The Pepsi IPL 7 points table provides the latest updated information on total points of eight IPL teams after every match. The IPL 2014 points tally also highlights the standing, run rate, wins and loss of each team playing in the Indian Premier League season - 7.

Eight teams compete in 60 matches from 16 April to 1 June 2013. Top four teams qualify for the Champions League Twenty20 2014.

Points are awarded in the group stage as follows:
Win - 2 points,
No result - 1 point
Loss - 0 points

According to rules, if a match ended with the scores tied, the tie is broken with a one-over-per-side Super Over. After super over still tie then:

  • The team with most number of boundary sixes throughout the entire match wins.
  • If still tie, the team with most number of boundaries throughout the entire match wins.
  • If still tie, the team taking the most wickets throughout the entire match wins.
  • If still tie, a count-back from the final ball of the Super Over eliminator shall be conducted. The team with the higher scoring delivery shall be the winner.
  • If still tie, by toss.

The tournament jointly hosted by India and the United Arab Emirates because schedule clash with the 2014 India general election. The opening 20 matches played in the UAE at three different stadiums in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah with the tournament returning to India on May 2.

The players auction took place on 12 February and 13 February 2014. Unlike previous seasons, the auction was in Indian Rupees rather than United States dollars.
