The cricket ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier points table provides the latest updated information on total points of various T20 teams after every match. The World T20 qualifier 2015 points tally also highlights the standing, run rate, wins and loss of each team playing for qualifying round for 6th 20/20 World Cup 2016 played in India in March-April 2016.
The following points system will apply to the Group stage matches:
Win - 2
Tie or No result - 1
Loss - 0
In the event of a tied match in the Group Matches, the teams shall compete in a Super Over to determine the winner. If the Super Over is unable to be completed the result will be a tie and the points distributed as per most number of boundary in match, if still tied and no. of dot balls bowled by bowler, if still no result then point equal distributed.
FINAL
In the event of a tied Final the teams shall compete in a Super Over to determine which team is the winner. Refer attached Appendix 6.
If weather conditions prevent the Super Over from being completed, or if the match is a no result:
The teams shall be declared joint winners, and
For ranking purposes to determine which group the teams are allocated in WT20 2016, the following shall apply:
- The team with the higher net run rate in all matches throughout the tournament will be placed in the higher position (refer to 21.10.5 below for the calculation of net run rate)
- If still equal, then the team which won the most number of head to head matches played between them will be placed in the higher position.
- In the highly unlikely event that teams cannot be separated by the above then teams will be ordered as per their Group seedings.
