ICC to Look Into PCB's Claims of Approach by Bookies

Colombo: The International Cricket Council (ICC) will look into Pakistan Cricket Board's claim that its players were approached by bookies during their current tour of Sri Lanka.

"The ICC is aware of the media reports on attempted match-fixing allegations," ICC communications officer James Fitzgerald told BBC.

"Appropriate action will be taken by the ICC in this regard," he added.

The ICC official said he could not comment further as the investigations of ICC's Anti Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) are highly confidential.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had said it had reported the matter to the ICC.

Both PCB chief Ejaz Butt and team manager Yawar Saeed have confirmed an incident of "unwanted people" trying to approach players in the team hotel.
