Rain Washes out 40-over Emerging Players Final

Brisbane: India shared the honours with South Africa after the final of 40-overs edition in the Emerging Players Tournament (EPT) was washed out in Brisbane.

The decider between India and South Africa at Brisbane's Allan Border Field was abandoned without a single ball being bowled due to persistent rain.

According to the information received here, the third-place playoff match between New Zealand and the Australian Institute of Sport at the University ground was also called off due to heavy rains.

India had earlier finished runners-up in the Twenty20 edition of the tournament, losing to the Australian Institute of Sports in the summit clash last week.
