South Africa Win by 32 Runs in 7-over Match

Hambantota: Chasing 79 in 7 overs, Sri Lanka suffered early blows as they lost Tillakaratne Dilshan and Mahela Jayawardene in quick succession against South Africa in the rain-curtailed match of the ICC Twenty20 World Cup.

Earlier, skipper AB de Villiers led from the front as he notched up 13 balls 30 to power South Africa to 78/4 against Sri Lanka.

De Villers smacked two sixes and a boundary in his flamboyant knock. JP Duminy finished the innings in a style, hammering four and a six on the last two deliveries to post a stiff target for the hosts.

South Africa suffered early jolts as they lost Richard Levi and Hashim Amla in quick succession. The man-in-form Amla smashed three fours in his 16 runs knock off 9 balls before went back to the pavilion.

Sri Lankan pacer Nuwan Kulasekara struck in the first over of the innings to give South Africa early blow. Kulasekara dismissed Richard Levi for four when Dilshan Munaweera took a blinder at mid-on.
