New Zealand Bat; Guptill, Mendis Back

Pallekele: New Zealand captain Ross Taylor won the toss and they will bat against Sri Lanka in first match of Super Eight at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

Martin Guptill is back in the XI, taking Adam Milne's spot. It's also Brendon McCullum's birthday today.

Jayawardene says he wanted to bat first as well. He says Ajantha Mendis is about 90% fit but is playing. Akila Dananjaya is also playing today.
