Sri Lanka Squad for Ireland ODIs and England T20

Colombo: Sri Lanka's selectors have included the promising young pair of Kithuruwan Vithanage and Ashan Priyanjan in a 15-man squad for a solitary Twenty20 international in England next month. Rangana Herath has been rested while allrounder Chaturanga de Silva finds a place after being the veteran left-arm spinner's replacement for the recent ICC World Twenty20.

Vithanage, 24, has played four Tests and five ODIs. Batsman Priyanjan, 24, has featured in seven ODIs. The duo are replacements for the retired Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara; the rest of the squad remains the same as that which went to Bangladesh for the World Twenty20.

Lasith Malinga, who was given the captaincy late in the tournament and went on to captain Sri Lanka to their first major ICC title since 1996, was on Wednesday also made full-time T20I leader until March 2015. His vice-captain will be Lahiri Thirimanne.

The one-off T20I against England will be played on May 20 at The Oval.
