India 316 for 6 (Kohli 85, Rahul 77, Rohit 63, Paul 3-59) beat West Indies 315 for 5 (Pooran 89, Pollard 74*, Saini 2-58) by four wickets

Cuttack: India beat West Indies by four wickets in the third and final One-day International to win the series 2-1 here on Sunday.

Sent into bat, West Indies scored 315 for five in the allotted 50 overs. India chased down the target with eight balls to spare.

Chasing 316 for victory in the third and final match of the ODI series, Rohit Sharma (63) and KL Rahul (77) got India off to the perfect start.

After Rohit fell, Virat Kohli joined Rahul. Kohli's highest score in Cuttack, in three matches played so far, was 22.

On Sunday, he looks to be in the mood to make amends. Shreyas Iyer (7) and Rishabh Pant (7) were dismissed without troubling the scorers much.

Half-centuries from Nicholas Pooran and Kieron Pollard helps West Indies post 315/5.

Batting first, West Indies got off to a cautious start but exploded towards the end.

India seemed in control of proceedings till the 40th over, when the score was 197/4. But 118 runs came in the last ten overs and 77 in the last 5 overs as Windies put up a competitive score on the board.

The last time West Indies defeated India in a bilateral ODI series was in May 2006.
