India Elect to Bat Against Oz in Warm-up

Bangalore: Indian captain MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to bat against Australia in the high-profile World Cup warm-up match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Sunday.

All 15 players of the respective squads can be used, with 11 batting and 11 fielding. The India-Australia game will set the tone and should give some indication of how the tournament could go for the two top teams.

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar and fast bowler Zaheer Khan are not playing warm-up game against Australia but they will play the next game against New Zealand at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday.

This is the first practice game for both the teams. Australia will take on South Africa in its next warm-up match in Bangalore on Tuesday.

Australia are the defending champions - three times over - as also the top ODI side, while the Indians, with a distinct home advantage, will start as one of the favourites.
