Rayudu, Pollard Steals Stunning Win

Bangalore: Superb batting from Ambati Rayudu (81*) and well supported by Kieron Pollard (52*) helped Mumbai snatch a stunning 5 wicket win over Bangalore at M Chinnaswamy on Monday.

Chasing 172, Mumbai Indians lost half the side with just 51 runs on board.

Harshal Patel gave Mumbai fifth blow in the form of Dwayne Smith just after the visitors crossed 50-mark.

Mumbai Indians got off to a disastrous start as they lost both openers Sachin Tendulkar golden duck and Herschelle Gibbs (2) respectively in the first two overs with just 4 runs on board.

Vinay Kumar then caught and bowled Rohit Sharma to leave Mumbai reeling at 19/3.

After brief lull, Muttiah Muralitharan struck in his very first over to send back Dinesh Karthik dealing fourth jolt to the visitors.

Karthik scored 16 before being caught near boundary rope by HarshalPatel.

Earlier, a gritty knock by Tilakaratne Dilshan (47) after early wickets and late charge by Mayank Agarwal powered Royal Challengers Bangalore to a challenging 171/6.

Mayank Agarwal produced a blistering 30-ball 64 and smashed Munaf Patel for 24 runs in the innings' last over, which included two sixes and as many fours.

In all, he hit six fours and four sixes after the hosts lost most of their big guns, including Chris Gayle and A B de Villiers cheaply.
