The 2022 Indian Premier League, also known as Tata IPL 2022, was the fifteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), a professional Twenty20 cricket league established by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007.

The season saw the expansion of the league, with the addition of two new franchises. Therefore, this was the second season to have ten teams, after the 2011 tournament. Chennai Super Kings were the defending champions, having won their fourth title during the previous season.

In the final, Gujarat Titans beat Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets to win their first IPL title.

With the introduction of the new teams, a ten-team format was created. The ten teams are divided into two groups of five. In the group stage, each team played 14 games.

Group A - Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants
Group B - Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans.
