Australia v New Zealand, World Cup final, MCG

New Zealand opt to bat in final, Teams Unchanged

Melbourne: New Zealand have won the toss and opted to bat against Australia in World Cup final at Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Both teams went in with unchanged squads.

New Zealand retained seamer Matt Henry although he has only played one match this tournament, after being called up to the squad ahead of the semi-final

The Melbourne surface was expected to be dry but full of runs. There was expected to be some bounce and pace in the pitch, but with clear skies overhead, swing and seam is not likely to play a major role.

Australia have lost to New Zealand earlier in the tournament, but New Zealand are unbeaten in their campaign. The game was also the final international outing for Daniel Vettori, and the last ODI for Australia captain Michael Clarke.

Teams:

Australia:
Aaron Finch, David Warner, Steven Smith, Michael Clarke (Capt.), Shane Watson, Glenn Maxwell, Brad Haddin (wk), James Faulkner, Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood

New Zealand: Brendon McCullum (Capt.), Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, Grant Elliott, Corey Anderson, Luke Ronchi (wk), Daniel Vettori, Tim Southee, Matt Henry, Trent Boult
