Sydney: Play has been abandoned on day three of the third Test between Australia and West Indies at the SCG without a ball being bowled due to persistent rain.
Umpires Ian Gould and Chris Gaffaney made the decision at 3.30pm (AEDT), well before the scheduled close of play at 5.30pm.
Rain swept across the ground all day on Tuesday and the covers were never taken off the centre wicket square.
West Indies will resume their first innings, weather permitting, at 10am on day four on Wednesday on 7-248, with Denesh Ramdin on 30 and Kemar Roach yet to score.
