World Cup 2011 News and Updates

Sri Lanka opening batsman Upul Tharanga was suspended for three months by the International Cricket Council on Friday for using a banned substance during the World Cup.

ICC confirmed that the next two World Cups will be 10-team events and also announced that teams will be relegated and promoted on the basis of performance.

The number one tag still eludes them but newly-crowned world champions India have closed the gap on top-placed Australia even as the team's in-form players moved up in the individual standings of the latest ICC ODI rankings issued on Monday.

The ICC executive board will meet on April 4 to discuss a host of issues, including the new Future Tours Program, and will also review the ongoing World Cup.

To many Yuvraj Singh may come across as arrogant, brawny and egotistic even. Those close to him say these are traits that make the myth, not the man.
